 Second Planning Meeting
[a.k.a] Dinner at Claddagh's Irish Pub in Maple Grove
January 26, 2013

 

Good Afternoon Everyone

An update on the January meeting. Those in attendance were Jim, Paul, LeEtte, Marie, Barb, Larry, and Shari.

A checking account was opened up by Jim in the amount $2000. As of that day the balance is $2001.20.

Fred has activated a website: brahambombers68.com He has downloaded the entire yearbook, our senior pictures. All you need to do is add your information. He has instructions on the page. We still need to find some of our classmates.

Ila is gathering addresses. Steve S, Vicki T, and Larry S were called to obtain some of these addresses. We were concerned about Tim Johnson, but he is alive and well.

Places we are looking at for the event is Majestic Oaks with shuttle bus to nearby hotel. Kelly Inn and Holiday Inn in St. Cloud—all inclusive. Riverwood Inn in Otsego—all inclusive. We discussed getting dates for possible event on Saturday. Cost of hospitality, food (menu), block of rooms, etc. Marie, Lee, and Barb were going to check out the Majestic Oaks. Shari was going to call or visit the others and report to the group via email.

We discussed inviting teachers to this event.

Things to finalize at the next meeting, which is March 17th in Cambridge at Perkins at 3 pm, are as follows:

  • Finalize location then if not before
  • Select menu/appetizers, cost per person, invitations, mailing dates of invitations and RSVP date
  • Obtain block of rooms
  • Possible slideshow, music, entertainment
Meeting was adjourned.

After that meeting and before the next meeting the following information was obtained: Kelly Inn, Holiday Inn and Riverwood Inn costs, days available and this information was sent out to group members. It was decided that the Riverwood Inn was the best place to hold our event.

It was decided after emailing to the ladies group as well that the best date would be August 10th. There will be a block of rooms available for those who need to stay overnight.

An estimate was obtained from the Riverwood on 60 people (30 each for two entrée choices) and 3 different appetizer choices. She also included a bonfire and smores. There will be a dance floor, a pull-down screen, and bar.

The facility has handicapped access, volleyball, indoor pool, and other activities available for those who like to take part. Albertville Mall is just 3-4 miles south on Hwy 19 for those who would love to shop.

Our next meeting is scheduled for March 17th at 3pm at Perkins in Cambridge MN. We would like to extend this invitation to the class officers and anyone else who can make it to this important meeting regarding the organization of our 45th class reunion.
