Greetings Fellow 1968 Classmates
We held our first reunion meeting on Saturday, November 10th, at Applebees in
Buffalo, MN. Attending this meeting was LeEtte, Grace, Barb, Fred (who came all
the way from Florida), and me (Shari Freitag). Paul, Steve, Larry, Jayne Vegsund,
Marie, and Jim were going to try to make it, but had prior arrangements. Our
next meeting is scheduled for January 26th at 1pm at Claddagh's Irish Pub in
Maple Grove, located on 7890 Main Street North. We would like to extend this
invitation to the class officers and anyone else who can make it to this
important meeting regarding the organization of our 45th class reunion.
We had so much fun. It involved great food, reminiscencing about the “old days”,
a mixture of what we need to accomplish at this meeting and the next meeting.
Lots of fun experiences were mentioned, some mischievous episodes, and other
amazing stories.
First, we decided that Jim, Grace, Jayne, and possibly Carolyn could be listed
on the Braham 1968 Class checking account which has been opened up by Jim. Any
donations will be sent to these 3 - 4 people to put in the checking account.
We will update you as to where the donations should go and to whom. Fred gave
Grace a large donation to put in the account, as did Jim to open it up. Another
donation will be coming from Gary Pangerl when this information goes live on the
website. Any other donations would be greatly appreciated.
Fred activated the website almost immediately when I emailed him the suggestion
I received. The website is: BrahamBombers68. For the more sensitive information,
you will be required to enter your name (at graduation time) and then all of us
will have the password ********. I believe the hint is the question: “What was
our class play?”
Fred plans to have the following categories: Name, senior picture, updated picture,
contact information, a category of what I have been doing since graduation. We
asked him if he could take the wrinkles out, age spots, etc... make us look really
good and younger! LOL! Grace won't have to worry about that!
It was also mentioned that we should have a memorial page for those who have passed
from our class. One person that came to mind was Tim Johnson. Fred thought that he
met with tragedy in Africa as a missionary. Not sure. Gary Boeck died during VietNam
War. If you know any information about anyone else or about these two very wonderful
young men, please let me know (selensky2@clearwire.net) or Fred
(fred.lehman.79@facebook.com).
I told the group that Jim would be willing to do the leg work on getting an idea of
places where we can hold our “get together”. But, the consensus was to look into
Majestic Oaks, minimum pricing and attendance, possible block of rooms from an Inn
about 8 miles away with shuttle service to and from Majestic Oaks. If it is not cost
effective, we may need to find another place.
We are trying to get notification out to all graduates, so if you know of anyone, via
Facebook, let Fred know. I did give Fred the list of names and addresses that Marie
gave me earlier. It was mentioned that Ila might be a resource for additional addresses.
We will be asking classmates to give us an idea of what would be a good time to get
together. Suggestions were made as follows: late June, late July and August, and then
early September, after Labor Day.
Updates will be on this website, so please visit us frequently. Email Fred or me if
there is something that you would like to mention or add to the website.
We had two reunions, 14th and 19th... odd ducks, but unique in many ways. I remember
an all school reunion, not sure of the year... possibly after 1994/1996? So, let's get
together and make this a memorable experience and weekend for all.
Thanks,
Shari (Freitag) Selensky
